Shouk Cafe is at the first position of this month’s Talk of the Town in Urbanspoon Brisbane, why it is so special?

Food: excellent!

Coffee: loved the Veneziano Coffee and Maleny Milk!

Service: impeccable!

Ambience: loved the decor!

Shouk Cafe was opened on 11th March in 2014 at Paddington, one of my favourite brekky suburb! Their menu is inspired by the marketplaces of Middle EastI haven’t had much dining experience about Middle East food and the only thing I love is the Shakshouka!

Today we had a Shashkua (Tunisian style eggs baked in rich sauce of tomato, capsicum, spices, merguez sausage and served with toasted challahand The Jackson (big breakfast of scrambled eggs, merguez sausage, bacon, garlic butter braised kale, latke and toasted sourdough). I never had challah but it was quite interesting. I found on wikipedia challah is a braided bread and Shouk Cafe’s challah is sourced from La Vosh Patisserie in Red Hill.

We loved their breakfast especially the Shakshuka! We had really great shakshouka at Trio Cafe in Bondi Beach and Gerad’s Bistro in New Farm, this one is also impeccable! We also loved their Veneziano Coffee! Mr F said he’ll come back as a regular to Shouk Cafe  :)
